Stephanie Sy is married to her boyfriend turned husband David Ariosto, a photojournalist of CNN. They first met in June of 2015 while they both were working at Al Jazeera America Network. Stephanie was the news anchor while her husband David was the on-air reporter of the Al Jazeera network when they met and after some years they started dating.

Her husband David is an author and journalist who has also worked as a producer, manager, and writer for National Geographic, Time Magazine, Reuters, NPR, PBS, and CNN. David was also the managing editor at Brut Media alongside being a senior consultant and executive producer for GZERO Media. David is the author of the book named “This is Cuba” which has received many positive reviews.

As of now, David is the head of the editorial for Intelligence Squared and along with that, he is also a visiting professor at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

According to the LinkedIn profile of Stephanie Sy, she first became an on-air reporter of WBTW TV, Florence, South Carolina in August of 1999 and she worked there for around 2 yrs and 1 month until August of 2001. Then she worked as a military reporter for WTKR-TV, Norfolk, VA from the year 2001 to 2003. While being a military reporter, she embedded with US troops during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, covering the war for all NY Times Company broadcast stations for six weeks. For the continuous coverage of news of the Iraq war, Stephanie also received a VA-associated press award.

Stephanie then became an ABC News correspondent. She reported for all the platform of ABC News like World News, Good Morning America, and Nightline where she covered foreign and domestic news. From May 2016 to September 2016, Stephanie joined Yahoo as the guest anchor.

She took a short break and returned back to the media as freelancer anchor of CBS News in July Of 2017 where she covered the unscripted live-breaking news.

She even was a special correspondent of PBS News Hour in April of 2017 and she continued it until October of 2017.
