Taylor became the Old Spice National Player of the year in the state of Georgia and was even the Gwinnett Daily Post’s offensive player of the year after his record season when he threw 4,218 yards which is the second-most in the state history.

Taylor then accepted an athletic scholarship to attend Old Dominion University in the year 2011. There he played for the Old Dominion Monarchs football team from the year 2011 to the year 2014. During his final season of 2014, Taylor passed for 3,476 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions.

Talking about his professional football career, Taylor was undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, however, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent but the journey lasted only till the year 2017. Taylor was released with an injury settlement on 11 September 2017. 

Then on 23 September 2017, Taylor was signed to the New England Patriots practice squad and was released on 9 October 2017.

Taylor then signed to the Houston Texans’ practice squad on 29 November 2017 and was waived by them on 13 April 2018.

Soon then Taylor was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers on 16 April 2018 but was released on 30 August 2019 during final roster cuts. Taylor underwent surgery after an elbow injury that happened while playing against the Atlanta Falcons on 26 December 2018.

Before 2020 XLF draft Taylor was allocated to the St. Louis BattleHawks on 22 November 2019 but he did not see the field during the season and recorded no statistics. His contract terminated after the league suspended operations in April 2020 due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Taylor Heinicke signed with the Washington Football Team’s practice squad on 8 December 2020. He then signed a two-year $8.75 contract extension with the Washington Football Team in February of 2021. According to Sportrac, Taylor Heinicke’s contract includes an average annual salary of $2,375,000, a base salary of $1,000,000, a signing bonus of $1,000,000, and a roster bonus of $70,587 as of 2021. Taylor Heinicke was born on 15 March 1993 to his late father Brett Heinicke and mother Diane Dodsworth in Lawrenceville, Georgia. His father Brett used to sell sporting goods, while his mother Diane worked in IT for Coca-Cola. Taylor has an older sister named Lauren as his siblings from his parents. He used to live in suburban Atlanta with his loving parents and sister.
