Rachel Nichols is happily married to her boyfriend turned husband Max Nichols. Rachel and Max met during their teens at the Summer Camp in Maine. But it was not until they graduated and Max approached Rachel. The duo soon began dating and tied the knot on 25 May 2001. Their wedding ceremony was conducted in a traditional Jewish fashion at the Venice City Hall, New York surrounded by their family and friends.

Sports broadcaster and television host Rachel Nichols first began her career as a sports journalist in the 1990’s. She used to write for Fort Lauderdale’s daily newspaper “Sun-Sentinel from 1995 to 1996. Then she began covering (NHL) National Hockey League’s team Washington Capital for the Washington Post from 1996 to 2004.

In 2004 she joined ESPN and worked in various programs such as ports Center, Sunday NFL Countdown, and Monday Night Countdown and became a regular part.

Rachel joined CNN and left ESPN in 2013 and hosted her popular program “Unguarded with Rachel Nichols”. She even worked sidelines for Turner Sports’ NBA on TNT program from 2013 to 2016.

She then returned back to ESPN after working 3 years on CNN. She again joined ESPN in 2016 and co-hosted a daily discussion show covering NBA namely “The Jump”

As of now, NBA host Rachel Nichols is considered as one of the highest-earning female sports reporters whose net worth is estimated to be around $2 million whereas her salary is speculated to be around $1.5 million annually.

Rachael Nichols was born on 18 October 1973, in Potomac, Maryland to mother Jane Jacobs and father Ronald Jacobs. Her birth name is Rachel Michele Alexander. Rachel’s mother worked at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, Maryland while her dad was a lawyer who once was the managing partner in the Rockville Maryland-based law firm Weinberg & Jacobs. Rachel has 2 brothers from her parents. She and her siblings grew up in a middle-class Jewish family. 

Coming towards her educational background, Rachel went to Winston Churchill High School in Potomac. Then in the year 1995, she completed her graduation from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism.
